The Best Breakfasts in Krakow Old Town

bunkier cafe

Bunkier is situated right on the Planty – the gorgeous green leafy park encircling Kraków’s medieval Old Town. During summer, the cafe is completely open-plan. This makes Bunkier Cafe a great option for breakfast al fresco. On the menu are eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine, Royal eggs, a range of local bagels, croissants, continental-style breakfasts, and a regional cheese board. Even more good news – all of these dishes are £5 or less! This is a top place for any picky eater for breakfast in Krakow. They’ve got a really good selection available.

Charlotte is a French-style bakery on plac Sczczepański square, just around the corner from Bunkier. It gets busy but that’s because of their delicious freshly baked bread, pastries, delicious jams and home-made chocolate spreads. Savoury options include a whole range of tasty sandwiches made using fresh ingredients. That’s not to mention the glass of sparkling wine you can get with the breakfast set! The only down side to this spot is that service is always a bit on the slow side – even if the cafe is totally empty.

milk bar tomasza

The one and only place in the entire city to get a quality Irish/English breakfast – perfect if you’ve had a long night on the vodka. Milkbar Tomasza is so much more than that though.

It’s a modern take on Poland’s famous Communist-era milk bars, restaurants traditionally famous for super cheap local dishes. Taking the milk bar vibe but increasing the quality and expanding the menu to also include foreign options (besides tons of local options) has made it one of the most popular breakfast/brunch joints in town. It’s not as crazy cheap as the other Milk Bars in the city but it is top-notch value.
